Mandatory Simplified VBS Pre-gate queuing area process
On arrival at the terminal
- Driver enters pre-gate, within booking window.
- Stops at the barrier.
- Enters vehicle registration and VBS reference into the barrier consol
- Booking is confirmed and instruction to proceed given
- Instruction will be:
- Proceed to Pre-gate exit via respective transfer queuing area (i.e.
T1, T2 or T3).
- Empty Park and Reach Stacker only jobs will
given be instruction to proceed to those areas via Fast
Track lane (please refer bullet point at the end of the document).
- If no transfer slots are available at respective Transfer Area, the
driver will be instructed to queue in the respective T1,
T2 or T3 area within pre-gate. When a slot is available
the Marshall will instruct the vehicle to proceed. (In
the future this will be done via an electronic call forward
board).
- If your driver needs to post shipping notes, the driver will park in T1,
T2 or T3 queuing area and place them in respective post box and
then proceed to exit based upon above.
SID allocation / seal check area
- Seals will be checked and SID’s issued as per existing procedure.
- Slot allocation will now occur at Transfer Area entrance
Transfer areas
- Driver proceeds to the respective area as per attached map
- At the entrance to the Transfer Area the driver will stop alongside the
pedestal and enter vehicle registration.
- Driver will be requested to re-enter the slot number to confirm understanding
of instruction.
- If no slot is available at the time the driver will be asked to wait (at
the consol) until a slot becomes available. The system will work
on a "one out one in" process.
- Driver will then proceed to the slot to be serviced.
- Once serviced, driver proceeds to exit, if an import container has been
collected the seal number must be entered into system before leaving
the terminal or proceeding to the next transfer area.
Export containers via empty park / Reach stacker
- If the driver arrives at the pre-gate with an export box that will be
serviced at Empty Park or Reach Stacker area then the system will
look to see where the Import box is coming from and send him to
the relevant pre-gate transfer
queuing area.
- Driver will proceed as per above process, but will visit the Empty Park/
Reach Stacker area before going to the transfer area allocation
point.
- If driver has an Export only delivery and it meets the criteria of the
Empty Park/
Reach Stacker area, then driver will be directed via a designated
lane and will be fast tracked to the relevant
area.
